The Dubois County Museum is holding a Membership Drive.  Beginning in September, the 2019 memberships are available and prospective new members are invited to take advantage of a special offer. By purchasing a 2019 membership now new members will be granted free admission into the museum for exhibits and programs for the remainder of 2018 and all of 2019.  They will be good till December 31, 2019.

Present Members with 2018 memberships are also reminded to renew now for 2019.   Use your membership every time you visit the museum.

Cost of Memberships are: Individuals-$25, Couples-$40, Family (just applies to those living in your home-not extended family)-$50, Bronze-$100, Copper-$250, Silver-$500, Gold-$1,000, Platinum-$3,000, and Benefactor-$5,000. With your 2018 and 2019 membership take advantage of these programs planned for 2018.

In October, four programs are planned for family fun: Saturday, October 13 Storytime at the Museum at 10:30am, Sunday, October 14, 1-4pm Fall Harvest Day, Saturday, October 20 10-3pm Model Train Show and Swap Meet, featuring model trains running and a train set made exclusively of Legos, and also on October 20 at 2pm —The Return of Sunshine; Poems by a Laureate for Ecstatic Grandparents. Jasper native Norb Krapf will do his first reading from his new book of poetry. (In conference room). November features programs on Saturday, Nov 10, 10:30—Storytime in the children’s area. Theme is scarecrows. Thursday, Nov 15—Opening of Festival of Trees 5:30pm, Program 6:00pm.  Theme: Americana/God Bless America, Sunday, Nov 18—2pm Haysville Ruritan holds Ruritan annual raffle drawing, Nov 22—Closed for Thanksgiving, Sunday, Nov 25 at 1:30—Kinder Karneval – German Festival for elementary aged children put on by JHS students studying German, and also on Sunday, Nov 25,—Christmas Carols sung by the Singing Seniors at 3 pm with refreshments.  December is packed with chances to use your yearly membership.  On the Dec 1–2 weekend (Saturday and Sunday) O’Tannenbaum Days will be Saturday, Dec 1, at 9 am Breakfast with Santa (special $10 cost) —with Christmas crafts, activities, and visits with Santa; Reservations required. Contact [email protected], on Dec 1, at 2 pm Violin concert by The Strings, Inc. and Sunday, Dec 2, at 2pm come hear Violin musical entertainment on the Log House front porch by Lisa Hoppenjans. Then on Saturday, Dec 8, it’s the Cookie Walk from 10:00-2:00pm (purchase your holiday cookies here), and at 10:30 am is Storytime in the children’s area. On, Sunday, Dec 9— will be the Cookie Walk from 1:00—3:00pm and the Dubois County Country Cloggers performing at 1:30 with refreshments served. On Sunday, Dec 16, 1:30 come see Blake Buechlein as he brings in the alligator found in Patoka River and his collection of reptiles-snakes, lizards, tortoises, and turtles. The museum will be closed Dec 24, 25, 31, and Jan 1, but will open for normal hours on December 26-30 for families and guests needing a place to visit and escape Cabin fever.  A listing of 2019 programs and exhibits will be released in late December of 2018.
