The Legacy of Abraham Lincoln

The Dubois County Museum hosts their monthly Free Night on Thursday, February 18, 2021,  from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the museum. The month of February celebrates the Legacy of Abraham Lincoln with a special exhibit on our 16th president. Museum volunteers have gathered Lincoln items for the museum’s collection and have displayed them in Room 1 at the museum. Also on display at the museum is a unique collection of Civil War items, featuring handwritten letters home from Captain Jacob Alles. The letters were written in German and translated to English and bound for display. Don’t forget to examine and read all about the American flag carried by members of Indiana Company K from Dubois County into Civil War battles. The Civil War Room is filled with many pieces of that time period in American history.
