The Dubois County Museum welcomes John C. Ackerman, formerly from Jasper, to a
book reading on Friday morning December 16, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at the museum at 2704
N. Newton Street (US Hwy 231 N) in Jasper, IN.

Mr. Ackerman grew up on a farm on the south edge of Jasper. He was born on
October 10, 1937 and was a Class of 1955 graduate of Jasper High School.

He took on a challenge from his two sons and spouses to write short stories about his life, his experiences, and his beliefs.
Over the time frame of a year, he wrote a story each week for a total of 52 short stories.  The writing seemed tedious at first, but he quickly accepted the work to be done, and set about the task with a new energy and commitment.

John has lived in Charlotte, NC since 1994, when his work necessitated a change of location.  He travels back to Jasper twice a year to see family and friends. He will be stopping in Jasper on the 16th and is looking forward to reading selections from his book, followed by additional notes and discussion at the Dubois County Museum.

The public is invited.
