The Dubois County Museum, at 2704 N. Newton Street (US 231) in Jasper, welcomes our
Hispanic friends for a program called Voces Vivas on Saturday, Oct. 15 for the closure Of
Hispanic Heritage Month 2022. This program will begin at 10 a.m. and run to 12:30 p.m. Hear
in spoken word the personal stories of Hispanic Migration to Dubois County by local members
of our communities. Hear from Luis Dubon, Maria Tedrow, Edilia Arocho, Maria Loya, Jaime
Ornelas, Maria Carmen, Dubon de Ornelas and Jose′ A. Gil on their pursuit of safety and
happiness. At 11:00 hear a Youth panel discussion on Equity and Cultural Competence in Dubois
County. Participating from Vincennes University Jasper Center (VUJC) will be Karla Alagria and
Melissa Macias-Leon, from Southwest Dubois School Corporation (SWDC) will be Kimberly
Echeverna and Maritza Romero and from Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools (GJCS) will be
Daisy Hung and Victor Soto.
