The Dubois County Museum, at 2704 N. Newton Street in Jasper, announces these programs planned for
the month of March 2025.
Saturday, March 8, beginning at 11:00 a.m., preschool owner and teacher, Carrie Holdsworth, welcomes
young children for Storytime. She will read stories on the theme, “Baby Animals”. After the stories the
children can participate in several crafts and activities. A small snack of string cheese, animal crackers
and individually wrapped alphabet fruit snacks are available for participants. Storytime is sponsored by
the Optimist Club of Jasper.
Wednesday, March 19, from 11:30-1:00 p.m. Being for Others Health & Wellness Foundation will host a
Grand Opening and Open House for their new office complex in Jasper at the Dubois County Museum.
The Office is located on the south side of the museum building on 2704 N. Newton Street in Jasper.
After a short introduction, visitors are invited to tour the office complex. Food and refreshments are
available.
On March 1 the museum opened their new temporary exhibit, “Going to the Movies” in the temporary
exhibit area in Room One. On Sunday, March 23, the museum opens from 1-4:00 p.m. for visitors to
take in all the information presented on movie houses that were present in Dubois County.
Remembering the Astra, Tivoli and Family Drive-in in Jasper and the Victory in Huntingburg. Come in to
share memories with those gathered. Vintage cartoons and film clips will be playing in the Log House
area. And, yes, popcorn will be available.
On Saturday, March 29, from 8:00-10:00 a.m. the Dubois County Farm Bureau invites the public to enjoy
a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at the museum. Cost of the breakfast is $2.00. The Farm Bureau will
have literature available about the role of the American farmer on placemats and signs. Visitors need
not be a Farm Bureau member nor a museum member. Admission to the museum will be free while the
breakfast is available.
The museum continues to welcome fitness walkers who seek an indoor place to walk. The inside
perimeter is approximately a 1/6 th of a mile. Members are admitted free, while nonmembers are asked
to give a $1.00 donation. Please register your name in the visitors log upon entering the museum.
