The Dubois County Museum announce the winners of the 2025 Festival of Trees Tree
Decorating contest. Fifty-two trees were decorated through-out the 50,000 square feet
of exhibits this year at the museum. The trees will remain displayed till January 10, 2026.
Volunteers will come in beginning on January 11 to take down their tree. The museum
thanks all that participated this year. The communities of Dubois County each had a
tree decorated to showcase the finer points of their communities. These sixteen trees
were displayed along the mural walls. This year a total of seventeen non-profits/service
clubs had come forward to participate. Two trees were decorated by professional
florists. The remainder of the trees were decorated by volunteers to the museum who
enjoy decorating for the Christmas season. Coordinators of the program include Clara
Fromme, Kathy Bachman, Marcia Werne and Joe Schoenbachler.
Winners are: first place-tie Ferdinand Flower Shop. (the large tree with pink and white
flowers) and Ireland (cameras, slides, photos) decorated by Angie Rudolph. Third place
went to Celestine’s Salute to Volunteer Firemen. It was decorated by Ericka Verkamp.
This year the organizers also announced additional winners. Fourth place went to
ALASI and their butterfly tree. Fifth place was awarded to the Military Tree decorated
by Linda Mason and Margaret Popp.
