The Dubois County Museum welcomes Jasper native Don Flick on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11:00
a.m. for an interesting program on a movie classic.
In his introduction to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, author L. Frank Baum stated that the book
“was written solely to pleasure children of today”.  But was that really the only purpose, or was
there a deeper meaning behind the story?  Join Jasper native Don Flick as he “pulls back the
curtain” on what he believes is the allegory behind the classic American fairy tale. Flick will
present his case that a deeper meaning of the classic had thoughts of women’s suffrage. Come
on Friday, October 17, 2025, to hear his presentation. Your admission to the museum is your price for
the program.
