First Annual Chess Tournament

The Dubois County Museum will host the First Annual Dubois County Chess Tournament at the museum on Saturday, February 8, 2020.  The museum invites all ages to come and learn the game and/or to develop skills.

Beginning at 10:00 volunteers will be on hand to help those wishing to learn the game and for those wishing to sharpen their skills.  Beginning at 11:00 a.m. a tournament will begin.  Sign up is from 10-11:00 a.m.  The tournament will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. depending on the number of players.  Scores will be tallied from 3-4:00 p.m., with prizes awarded at approximately 4:00 p.m. (again, depending on the number of players).

Admission will be charged to the museum, but there is no fee for the play or tournament.  Regular museum admission is $5 per adults, $3 per high school students, $2 per middle and elementary students.  The museum will supply the boards and chess pieces.
